I'm delighted that so much attention is now being paid to the issue of financial speculators and disaster capitalists making money out of #NoDeal. It's been frustrating to see so little attention being paid to this in Brexit debate. 1/
This is of course due to Rachel Johnson and Philip Hammond bringing it to the public awareness.
The BBC's Andrew Neil negates the idea by stating there's no evidence to support the claim. Financial markets and the news narratives they produce are always speculative... 2/
Since when do economists have to produce evidence to make future projections?
There are however clues. This is Christopher Chandler. He runs a company called Legatum Ltd. He made his fortune by travelling the world finding areas of political instability...3/
A disaster capitalist. Now, everywhere he goes he sets up charitable ventures, invests in education programmes etc. Not saying he's a bad guy, this is just how he makes money.
Legatum was one of the first 'think tanks' that the UK government consulted..4/ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legatum
...with following the vote in 2016. His think-tank openly supports Hard Brexit and has consulted with a number of gov't Ministers.
So, here we have an expert disaster capitalist, encouraging no deal Brexit. Hmmm.

Then there's Aaron Banks... but we all know about him.
Now many #Leave voters take the position that they voted to poke the establishment in the eye. I get that, mission accomplished.
However, the establishment is a hideous monster with many eyes and tentacles that grow back when attacked.
#NoDeal means they win, and you lose.
