1) Ever since it was reported that Yertle said "if the House impeaches, the Senate must hold a trial,"our side has had something of a meltdown.

2) That is expected. However, I think Yertle is far smarter and more resolute than most of you think.

3) Let's review, shall we?
4) In 2015, Yertle--at NO ONE'S URGING--took it upon himself to block Merrick Garland from the USSC, citing (with no particular historical precedent that I'm aware of) the fact that Zero was in the last year of his second term.

5) This was, to say the least, huge.
6) Had Garland been on the Court, giving it a 5-4 majority, I shudder to think how difficult Trump's first term would have been.

7) But you may have missed this: he didn't stop there.
8) Lucy Koh, nominated to the Ninth Circuit, was reported out of the Judiciary Committee but Yertle didn't give her a floor vote.
9) That went instead to Trump appointee Daniel Collins.

10) The same story was true of Donald Schott, a Seventh Circuit nominee. The seat ultimately went to Trump pick Michael Brennan.
11) The same goes for Eighth Circuit nominee Jennifer Puhl. Trump pick Ralph Erickson was confirmed.
12) I can't even begin to list the district judges whom Yertle held up. (Hat tip to Zen Master for help with these names).
13) Let's now go back to the legislative side in 2017-2018. Yertle rarely made promises about getting certain things passed.

When he did, they got passed.

14) He promised the tax cut would be passed. It was.

15) He promised Judges Gorsuch & Kavanaugh would be confirmed.
16) They were.

17) He promised to get Obamacare repeal up for a vote. NOTE: Yertle never publicly said he would pass it. This, I think, is because he knew McTurd would hate all Americans with his "thumbs down."
18) So as best I can tell, Yertle passed everything he said he'd pass, confirmed every judge he said he'd confirm.

19) Let's return then to his promise to hold a trial if Botoxic passed impeachment.
20) I certainly don't think this was Yertle laying down, and I don't even think it was Yertle just absent-mindedly confirming he'd follow the Constitution.
21) Upon reflection, I think this was a shot right across Botoxic's bow.

22) This was Yertletalk for "Make my day. Bring it." He knows Trump has 34 HARD acquits, probably 10 squish acquits, and close to 50 for an outright dismissal.
23) By saying, "We'd HAVE to have a trial," he was promising Botoxic in Yertlese that she was going to lose in an embarrassing way, that there would be no stalling, and that it would be over before Illicit Mullah Omar could marry another male relative.
24) This was a big ol' promise from Yertle. "You bring that stuff here you'll regret it."
25) Yertle knows his caucus. That's why he never promised to PASS Obamacare repeal. He knew McTurd would kill it.

And I think he knows he has the votes to squelch Botoxic's impeachment charges--whatever they are--like a fart in a wedding.

26) Just remember what Yertle has done.
