I am back from Kashmir after spending 26 day's at home.
The experience as a whole was scary!
Kashmir has lost its charm completely with desserted street's and heavy deployment of security personnel.
There's a Civil Curfew in place.
A Thread.

1. Schools, colleges and universities are non functional. In some private schools parents are even asked for monthly fees without students attending the classes.
Students prefer private coaching as year end exams are nearing.
2. There is less movement of vehicles during day time in uptown areas of Srinagar. Local buses do not ply. Only private vehicles can be seen on the roads. There have been many incidents where private vehicles have been set ablaze.
3. Shops and local vendors open in the morning (6 am to 8 am) and evening (6 pm to 9pm) for essentials. All other times, they are completely shut.
4. Downtown areas, most of them, are almost inaccessible. Movement is also restricted. Strict impositions are in place. There have been many incidents of protests especially in Soura area of Srinagar.
5. Friday prayers are still not allowed in Jamia Masjid Srinagar. Also in many uptown areas the congregational prayers are not allowed.
6. Communication blockade continues as only few landline numbers are functional. Long queues in BSNL office for restoration of landline services. Mobile phone services and internet continues to remain suspended.
7. During my visit to hospitals especially SMHS Hospital Srinagar, there isn't adequate supply of medicines available. I have one of my relatives admitted in ICU and the hospital seems to run out of supplies every Sunday.
The patients are living on God's mercy!
8. Heavy deployment of forces still remains. Additional bunkers and security checks have been deployed. Frisking is at peak.
9. Apart from Srinagar, the rest of areas remains incommunicado. There have been even rumors of many been martyred. But this ISN'T CONFIRMED!
( Today we passengers were repeatedly asked for baggages check's for 5-6 times)
10. Lastly, Kashmiri's haven't lost hope. Infact they have been reluctant as ever and continue to dream for a #FreeKashmir
Their love and support for Pakistan continues.
