I took an extended hiatus from all social media after a family crisis. I came back last night. I noticed some tweets echoing a theme that is gaining traction, one I wrote about several times, most recently
in January 2019. I share that thread here:
#ReclaimOurCountry
I voted for HRC.
Nov 9 I knew elex2016 was stolen.
After a few days of ranting, raging & being depressed I chose to look for silver linings, things that would NOT have happened - at all or as quickly - w/HRC as POTUS.
I found several signs of hope:
1/
Some hope I found:
Increased:
* civic engagement at all levels of governance
* Citizen activism beginning w/ Women's March 2017
*2018 midterm voter turnout & candidate diversity
*stronger desire to actively support, protect, defend our democratic republic we call USA
2/cont
I also found:
Greater:
*exposure of political corruption at all levels of our American government
*exposure of depth & breadth of trans-national multi-layered crime & corruption
*exposure of extent to which all involved go to protect/maintain/gain power, money, influence
3/cont
Then I found:
*undeniable evidence of coordinated multinational efforts to cleanup global crime & corruption at all levels - corporate, political, societal, religious
*undeniable realization of our common desire for decency, justice, human rights, honor, dignity
4/cont
I found Citizen Journalists, esp on Twitter, who have not only kept me sane but given me hope. Through them and those who give them voice I have learned about the depravity of humans & the forces of evil - the dark side is darker than I ever imagined. Mordor on steroids.
5/cont
Yet hope was alive, well. Though the tales of crime & corruption were true I learned there was abundant good, forces fighting together for liberty, justice, equality. For the rights of all living to not only survive but thrive.
Citizen Journalists.
Patriotic Activists.
Voters.
6/
I am more informed than I was in 2016. I am wiser. I realize what was almost lost and vow to *always* take my civic duty seriously by participating in the governance of my country - I will vote in every election.
7/cont
Others have made the same commitment. Many are already involved and acting on those commitments.

As painful as this nightmare has been, as slowly as the wheels of justice turn, they are turning. Our republic does yet stand. Our Constitution holds.
8/cont
We see where we need to make changes to prevent a recurrence of this perversion. We know where we need to clarify our Constitution for our times.
We understand the significance of citizen resolve to support, protect and defend this grand adventure we call home: #America.
9/cont
So as much as I wanted HRC to win, I choose to acknowledge the good that is now coming from what was stolen.
I can say and honestly do believe #WeThePeople WILL #ReclaimOurCountry.
We are already doing so ...
