A woman says “he violently attacked me” and people hear “I was sad not to get a phone call”. Folks, women do not want follow-up calls from men who violently attack us. The guy who attacked me, I called the cops *because* I was afraid, if I didn’t, I’d see him again.
Imagine if we treated men this way. “I’m calling the cops because that person broke into my house and stole my stereo.” “Aw, you’re just mad they didn’t invite you to a party.”
Still, this is why women speak out: To stop him from doing it to someone else. To let other victims know they are not alone.
