A brief history of the United States:

a few hundred years ago some assholes landed on a boat and started killing the people who already lived here.

1/
soon... some of those assholes started bringing in people that were captured and held as slaves, so they wouldn't have to work so hard.

2/
people kept coming into this new land because they were being persecuted for various reasons in their homeland... they were from many places and many religions... they came here so they could live in peace.

3/
some of those people were assholes, and kept telling other people what they could and couldn't do based on their personal religious beliefs... some said their religion justified owning other people.

4/
All of these people were ruled over by a mad king who lived somewhere else, and taxed them relentlessly without giving them any representation in government, so they rebelled.

5/
After a brutal war with the king, a bunch of guys got together to write a constitution for this new land. Many of these guys were religious, but the document they wrote was based on human rights, NOT religion.

6/
But there were some areas of the new land that still wanted to own people, so they agreed to disagree, and decided that those slaves only counted as 3/5 of a person... of course, women were also not fully counted either.

7/
Eventually, it became obvious that you can't have a country where human rights are held up as the defining motivator without actually granting everyone basic human rights, so they started fighting again.

8/
The rational people won again, and then it was no longer okay to own people.

9/
over the next 100 years, they battled over who deserved full rights, and who didn't. Obviously the argument was dumb, because the Constitution said that everyone was equal... but they battled over it anyway.

10/
While they were battling, a bunch of assholes figured out how to burn this stuff called oil, which was underground... so they started pumping it up and burning it.

11/
Pretty soon, people started to notice that all this burning was making it hard to breathe, and also all the chemicals were making it impossible to drink the water without dying.

12/
This whole issue circled back to the fact that we're supposed to have a right to live without being poisoned.

13/
NOW, we're still trying to convince a bunch of assholes that every person has the same rights, and it's not okay to poison them either.

14/
In the weirdest twist of all, we elected a leader who believes that only white people have rights, and poison is okay... which just made things much worse.

15/
So, it's becoming clear that we need to cancel all the assholes that are killing us and keeping us from having equal rights... we're looking for someone who sees these issues in simple terms...

16/
In another weird twist, that person is actually running for president... a person who calls himself #Beto ...

but those in power seem determined to drown out his voice and continue to appease the assholes we've been fighting for several hundred years.

17/
We don't have to continue letting the assholes make us sick and keep us down.

We don't.

18/
Vote for #Beto and let's finally fix this mess... donate to #Beto2020 and let's show the assholes we mean business... that we're done fighting with them... that we are not afraid, and the future is bright and inclusive and clean.
