AYODHYA,not only a city, not only a controversy but a place which is in the hearts of crores of hindus, jains, baudhs. We all know about its value n controversy of ayodhya, but today I am going to unfold the very less known facts about ayodhya n RAM Mandir.
The word ‘Ayodhya’ was first found in Ramayana, then in purana n vedas.

In Vedic mysticism, Ayodhya is considered as the best and most powerful example of Vastu aspect of Spatial- Directional – Gravitational engineering principles mentioned in Atharva Veda.
According to the Ramayana, Ayodhya was founded by Manu, the law-giver of the Hindus. For centuries it was the capital of the descendants of the Surya dynasty, of which Lord Rama was the most celebrated king. Based on the records, it is said to have covered an area of
250 km², and was the capital of the Hindu kingdom of Kosala (Kaushal), the court of the great king Dasaratha, was the 63rd monarch of the Solar line.

The illustrious ruling dynasty of this region were the Ikshvakus of the Suryavamsha (solar clan).
According to tradition, Ikshvaku was the eldest son of Vaivasvata Manu, who established himself at Ayodhya.

King Prithu, the 6th king of the line followed by Mandhatri,Harischandra, Raja Sagar, Asvamedha and Bhagiratha.

Later in the time this clan came to be called
as Raghuvamsha. Bhagirath's Grandson was Dasaratha, father of Lord Ram.

According to puranic tradition, in the 93rd generation from Ikshvaku, the 30th from Rama was Brihabdala the last famous king of the Ikshvaku dynasty of Ayodhya, who was killed during the Mahabharata war.
After Mahabharata, it is said that Ayodhya lost its glory due to several natural disasters.

Till now, we have talked about the Ayodhya which is mentioned in different sculptures.

Now lets talk about the real Ayodhya.

Hindu tradition and scriptures state that Ayodhya was
discovered, excavated & rebuilt by the Chakravarti king Vikramaditya in 50 BCE. At that time it known as Saketa.

The Adi Purana states that Ayodhya was also called Saketa “because of its magnificent buildings which had significant banners as their arms”

Vikramaditya, then
carried out large scale archaeological excavations, at different locations in Ayodhya & reinstalled the temples & built Bhavya Ram mandir.

After that it was the capital of Gupta dynasty. (Chandragupta II)

The city got international attention during 5th century AD
At that time, it was considered to be centre of buddhism and jainism. Many baudh n jain temples were there at that time.
Xuanzang, a chinese monk who travelled india in 7th century AD, mentioned in his text that Ayodhya had 20 baudh temples and a very big n main temple of hindus.
The 16th century witnessed a shift in power with Ayodhya coming under the rule of the Mughal Empire.

According available sources, Babur in 1527-28, gave order to destroyed the Ram mandir.

At that time a warrior Pandit Devideen Pandey united many regional kings and fought
a battle against Mir Baqi, commander in chief of babur. But unfortunately they lost the battle n Ram Mandir was destroyed.

It is said that (no official record) 15 days later, after that battle, ranvijay singh, king of hansawar village, attacted on Mir Baqi to free Ram lala.
But he got killed along with thousands of hindus. After that his wife jai kumari hansawari along with 3000 female warriors, fought the battle merging with swami mehashwaranand n his his disciples (no official record), fought the battle against Humayun and all got killed.
A British historian, cunningham wrote that 1.74 lakh hindus were killed in order to built the masjid

When akbar came to power, he observed that due to this battle his army was getting weak hence, he built a small temple there on a area of 3 square feet.

After that, all was
going with peace until the cruel Aurangzeb came into the power. He run 10 campaign to destroy all the temples of ayodhya, lakhs of hindus were killed n forced to accept islam.

Many saints attached, atleast 30 times for the mandir but all got killed.
Jai singh II, A Rajput noble in the Mughal court, who purchased the land of the mosque and the surrounding area in 1717.

His documents show a three-domed structure resembling the mosque, which is however labelled the "birthplace" (chhathi). In the courtyard can be seen a
platform (chabutra) to which Hindu devotees are shown circumambulating and worshipping.

After that on 29th jan 1885, A hindu mahant Raghuveer das brought this matter to court for the first time claiming for the restoration of the Ram Mandir. In 1886, his petition was dismissed.
After that we all know what has happened till 2day.

Ayodhya is not just a city, its birthplace of Sri Ram, a belief which is buried from years n being irrigated from the blood of our Ancestors time to time. But we’ll fight and mandir wahi banaenge.
