According to a lot of proofs, it is the oldest language in the world. To be clear, the theory is that Tamil is not only the oldest surviving language that is still spoken in the modern day, but also that it is the first language humans ever spoke.
Aryans considered themselves as brahmins and started divide and rule system, in the matter of Castism.
Tamil the beauty Tamil, the Oldest. Tamil language periods go untraced. It might be the first language of mankind There are three Sangams goes back to the age of 20000 BC in Kumari Kandam in which the first two Sangam took place.
Aathichanallur showing Tamil Brahmi scripts found inside Urn & the period was found to be 1500BC-500 BC. based on "preliminary Thermo-luminescence dating". Sadly research was discontinued citing shortage of fund & site is even left unprotected by South Indian Archaeological dept.
Aathichanallur site has given genuine researchers the new window to do more investigation in finding age of written Tamil.

So as far as the available evidences for now we can conclude that all Indian languages got its written form only from the Tamil Brahmi, not Ashokan Brahmi.
When the messenger from Greek diplomat Megasthenes visited Chandra Gupta Maurya Court - Grand father of Ashoka around 300BC made a noticeable remark that there was no written books present at that time.

So Prakrit & other north Indian languages developed only after this period.
So the time has come to stop spreading the theory of the Sanskrit is older than Tamil Since it doesn't had any tangible evidence that it existed before 300 BC.
Sumerian language itself an archaic Tamil language and Sanskrit is "an offshoot language of Tamil"

சுமேரிய மொழி, itself, ஒரு தொன்மையான தமிழ் மொழி.

சமஸ்கிருதம், தமிழின் கிளை மொழியாகும்.
The Sumerian culture is almost matching with exiting Tamil culture mainly in literature side.

Sumerians called their ancestors land as Kumari. which directly refers to Lemuria theory of Tamils which submerged under sea after Antediluvian era.
Sanskrit is an offshoot language of Tamil bunking the Indo-european languages theory.

சமஸ்கிருதம் என்பது இந்தோ-ஐரோப்பிய மொழிகள் கோட்பாட்டைக் குறிக்கும், தமிழின் கிளை மொழி.
Yazhidi people of Sumarian civilization are descents of Tamils since they have similar tradition of Tamils who also pray nature till date and have god- Murukan.
It was already proven that Indus valley civilization related to Tamils is not only from archeological evidences, but also by the latest technique application of DNA test now.

The recent DNA test also proved the Aryan arrival.
The fact that IVC and Keezhadi civilizations in Tamilnadu are contemporary and their languages are similar suggest that the languages spoken in the areas in between Keezhadi and IVC had to be similar.
As the era of IVC and Keezhadi are centuries prior to the era of Indo-Aryans, who entered India without writing skills, having their Vedhas in oral tradition.

It is very clear that the native people in pan-India had writing skills centuries before the arrival of Indo-Aryans.
With the support of some the Kingdoms, Aryans could systematically rewrite the language history of Indian Languages in their favour by evolving the four varna system that created slavery in favour of Aryans and spoiled the socio-economic fabric of native Indians including Tamils.
Keezhadi excavation was stopped by Archeological Survey of India citing filthy reasons at the behest of Aryan lobby.

However, a bit of support given by Govt. of Tamilnadu could do this much contributions to the true history of India, that is yet to be written by native Indians
To keep things in perspective: When the Tolkappiyam was composed, most of Europe was still populated by illiterate barbarians; there were no English, no French, no Swedes, no Spanish or Portuguese. All not to forget that.

Tamil adopting a writing system as early as 6th/5th century BC indicates that there was flourishing civilization during this period.

Based on evidence discovered so far, we can conclude that during the period Vedic language oral traditions began, Tamil had adopted a writing system.

It indicates that Tamil was spoken before Vedic-Sanskrit. It is therefore the oldest spoken language in India.
The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai had undertaken research to date Saraswathi River. Scientists have carried out isotopic analysis of the alluvial sand as well as isotopic analysis of the waters collected from ancient pockets on the paleo channels of the river Saraswathi.
The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai have dated the River Saraswathi as 10,000 years old. Now, Rig Veda is the youngest among the Vedas and that itself is 10,000 years old as such.

(contd)
To establish the correctness, ISRO had used satellite images to establish the flow path of river Saraswathi, which had already disappeared around three thousand years back.

How, BARC-Mumbai established Saraswathy age 10000 yrs?

Many looters are ready to rewrite any history.
Tamil is the oldest. Tamil language periods go untraced it might be the first language of mankind. There are three Sangams goes back to the age of 20000 BC in the Kumari Kandam (Lemuria Kandam) in which first two Sangams took place. However, we have lot for practical comparison.
Tamil is a natural language in oral & writing floating among 80 million people. Sanskrit is derivative & very artificial used for mantras.

Asper ASI 2005, 55% of 1lakh archaeological evidences found in India were Tamil inscriptions & remaining for others which include Sanskrit.
Tamil is older. When Aryans came to India, Dravidians were already there. There was a continent called Kumarikandam. This was part of south India, along with Sri Lanka and parts of Indonesia. Tamil originated from here. Tamil may possibly be over 5000 years.
Tholkappiyam predicts 5000-2000 BC. Just imagine existance of Tamizh orgin even before.

It was already proved that Indus valley civilization related to Tamils. This is not only from archeological evidences but also from recent DNA test. The DNA test also proved arrival of Aryan

“In spite of many efforts taken by intellectuals, historians, political leaders and archaeologists, nothing was done by the ASI, for reasons best known to them, to send the Adichanallur samples for carbon dating” - the Madras HC Madurai Bench said.
The court had directed the ASI to fence the whole site that is spread across 114 acres and put up a police outpost to prevent any damage. (contd).
With Sathyabama Badrinath, former Regional Director (South), ASI, currently with the Delhi circle, nominated for preparing the report, the Madras HC said that the reports of T. Satyamurthy could also be added in achieving a comprehensive report.

One of the cultural traits in Indus Valley Civilization is that they had bull fight.

Even today, Jallikattu - bull fighting & bull chasing are traditional sports all over the villages in Tamilnadu.
Tamils had each year's bull festivals where the village youngs chase bulls & get hurt. This is an assertion of their manhood & they are able to get hold of the horns of bull to prove their heroism.

It is very likely to be one of the traits which connect Tamils with Indus Valley
