I've been meaning to loop back on this. On November 8, 2018, @foxnews stopped tweeting. It had 18+Million followers. It remains frozen in amber.
Fox News has never offered an explanation. It was rumored that Fox boycotted because of Twitter's treatment of Tucker Carlson, but for a network that thrives on victimhood and drove the entire RW echo bubble ... this doesn't really make any sense. centurylink.net/news/read/arti…
All of this happened around the time that McConnell received a visit from Murdoch; the WSJ argued against firing Mueller; and Sessions got canned ... but I have not seen anything compelling to really connect those. wsj.com/articles/jeff-…
We do know that Wikileaks/Assange were communicating with Hannity and other Fox conspirators via twitter, so it's possible that the account was frozen while the feds collected evidence ... but that does not explain why it's still frozen a year later.
I suggested - back in the day - that perhaps this evidenced a settlement between the feds and Twitter in which Twitter voluntarily gave up use of the account. But it seems like we might have heard about that by now.
Another possibility is that some state is on Twitter, like California is on Facebook. wired.com/story/californ…
On Nov 13, 2018, I thought we would see an unsealed indictment involving Trump, Org and Fox News conspiring with Twitter. We haven't seen that yet, although I still think that they did that, and it is part of the Wikileaks case that remains sealed.
So happy SHITBALLSIVERSARY ... I can't believe we are still doing this dumb thing.
