It keeps spreading into our schools. This matters.
This will be teaching critical race Theory to children. The overwhelming push through "ethnic studies" in education right now is to establish critical race education in k-12.
While it may or may not use the same rubric, it's an ethnic studies program in Seattle that recently went viral for trying to turn math into a relativist Social Justice program that, in their words, tries to make math more collectivist and math class all about oppression.
Maybe this program is substantially different, but given the NEA's strong support for critical race Theory, I'd be surprised if it is, but this kind of thing keeps proving it cannot be ignored or given the benefit of the doubt. Critical pedagogists abuse that benefit constantly.
Critical race Theory is explicitly historically revisionist. It intends to rewrite history to advance the interests of critical race Theory, which means insinuating that our nation is and always has been racist, was built out of racism, and can only be fixed by tearing it apart.
I could be mistaken, since I don't know the specifics of the Dallas program, but the quoted bit about teaching that blacks were more than slaves (duh) probably also includes teaching that "white history" says otherwise to hold blacks down. That's critical race Theory.
