2. Afghanistan (yes, neighbour. if you consider POK as part of India, we share borders)
We have six Faiths - Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jains, Parsi, & Christians
So, the condition of followers of these six faihs is really bad.
So bad, that percentage of Hindus in Pak and Bangladesh has reduced from two digits to one
Now, it's not that govt of India is handing out Indian citizenships.
It's just making it easier for all these persecuted religious minorities.
How you ask?
Well normally, to get Indian ...
That's right. You still wait for SIX years and that too just for applying.
Okay. Now we know what is #CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019
Now let's know why it's controversial.
yes, you guessed it right, here is a catch!!
Constitution also allows to make any specific case where you can make differentiate among people. That's....
Now, next big question is, why isn't govt helping say, Ahemadias, Rohingyas, Balloch etc.
The govt is helping minorities from three nations which have religion of state and that's Islam.
These are muslim dominated countries and all these are also Muslims.
So, when basis of this bill is to help 'relogiously persecuted Minorities'. ..
Well, technically, these are also in minorities there, but the catch is, they are also followers of Islam. So technically they are part of a larger spectrum that's in majority
IMO, #CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019 is a good step to help religiously persecuted minorities who have been discriminate against for far too long.
So, instead of whataboouttery, I chose to support it!
See you soon!
