Americans pay far too much for their prescriptions despite Trump’s claims he’s lowered costs. That’s why @HouseDemocrats voted today to #LowerDrugCosts.

While Trump fails to deliver on his empty promises, Democrats are fighting to make life-saving medicine more affordable.
@HouseDemocrats Diabetes patients continue to watch the cost of insulin skyrocket under Trump, making it harder for families like the Mertens to afford the medicine they need. cbs58.com/news/hartland-…
@HouseDemocrats Americans shouldn’t have to travel to other countries to access affordable prescription drugs. woodtv.com/news/target-8/…

Donald Trump is ramping up his lies about his record on Social Security and Medicare.

Trump has repeatedly called to cut Social Security and Medicare, and we have the receipts. THREAD: ⬇️
Trump is pointing fingers at other MAGA Republicans, but he still owns his proposals to gut Social Security and Medicare in EVERY SINGLE ONE of his budgets.

Trump put forth an extreme 2020 budget proposal that called for a cut of over $25 BILLION from Social Security programs.

🧵THREAD: These are just some of the Republicans who publicly opposed Democrats’ historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — but are now asking for infrastructure money from @POTUS’s bill:
Kentucky GOP Senator @RandPaul boldly called @POTUS’s historic legislation “wasteful” — but literally sent *10 different letters* asking for infrastructure money from the bill to help rebuild communities in Kentucky.
.@SenTuberville of Alabama voted against this landmark legislation, saying it used “fuzzy math,” only to turn around and ask for a grant to help build a new bridge connecting Southside and Rainbow City.

🧵Republicans lying through their teeth about their abortion extremism, PART 2:

Joe Lombardo, the GOP nominee for governor in Nevada, changed up the entire abortion page on his campaign website to lie about his anti-choice views. (See a pattern here?)
Before winning his GOP primary, North Carolina congressional candidate Christian Castelli bragged on his campaign website that he wanted to defund Planned Parenthood.

After the primary, Castelli built a brand-new website with an “issues” page that doesn’t even mention abortion.
Don’t just take it from us — take a look at this archived version of Colorado GOP congressional candidate Barbara Kirkmeyer’s campaign website, which had an entire section dedicated to her anti-choice extremism.

Kirkmeyer’s new website makes no mention of abortion at all.

🧵THREAD: Republicans are straight up lying about their positions on abortion because they know they can’t run on their extreme, anti-choice records.
Exhibit A: Up until last week, Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters’s campaign website said he supported criminalizing abortion and a federal personhood law.

Masters completely scrubbed his website of these wildly unpopular proposals on Thursday.

When asked during a primary debate in May whether “all abortions should be illegal in this country,” Iowa GOP congressional candidate @ZachNunn_ia raised his hand.

Nunn is now trying to hide from his position — but Iowans know better: Zach Nunn is simply too extreme.

Republicans vote no and take the dough.

Here’s a thread of Republicans who tout programs included in the American Rescue Plan that they all voted *against* 🧵⤵️

Republicans would rather spread baseless lies and do everything in their power to delay the American Rescue Plan than deliver relief to their constituents. Full stop. thehill.com/homenews/senat…
Republicans are LYING when they say the American Rescue Plan would cut Medicare.

The American Rescue Plan does NOT cut Medicare, but it does make health care more affordable for the millions of Americans who have lost their coverage during the pandemic. axios.com/aca-coronaviru…
Republicans say less than 9% goes toward fighting coronavirus. That’s a lie.

The ENTIRE $1.9T package goes toward addressing the pandemic. Including:
💉 $84 billion for testing and vaccine distribution
🏫 $210 billion to safely reopen schools
💸 $422 billion for direct payments
