Christopher Columbus;
all the fibs that they taught you in school.
Histr’y was revised, supporting their lies
and we’ve all been played for a fool.

1492 was the date.
End of the 15th Century.
With 3 ships and men,
from Spain he set out,
to the East, navigating the sea.
They told us his search was for India,
and a shorter route to the spice.
That may even have been
his excuse to the Queen;
a STORY that just sounded nice.
The truth is, Columbus suspected,
you might even say that he knew...
that his route to the East
would turn up at least
a living New World or two.
Niňa, Pinta, y Santa Maria
were the names of his ships
numbered three.
But the size of the holds,
and the crewmen that rode,
rendered India well out of reach.
They told you a story of naming
the natives he happened across
for the country he sought
but the truth is they’re not;
in reality named for The Cross.

See, Columbus spoke only Italian,
and the Queen was the Monarch of Spain.
The similarity
of both
was why and how the name.
He called them "Creāture In Dios",
“A People Created By God”.

In Dios became
Indian for a name
The Story YOU know is a fraud.

See the country that WE now call India,
it WASN’T, 1492.
It was called Hindustan.
They can lie all they can,
but that doesn’t make it more true.
