The protests should also be for the Hindu woman from Bulandshehr who doesn't have citizenship proof and certainly can't say she's from Pakistan or Afghanistan or Bangladesh.
For the child who lives on the street with her parents, is hungry, and knows no other country but this. Whose family has had no papers for generations. Who has a name which may be associated with a religion, but who never had cause to have faith in God.
For the Tibetan who was hounded out of his own country and took refuge in ours, but didn't get the right documentation.
For your grandfather's cousin, who has no papers and is as Indian as you or me and Durga Ma. And their young carer from the village.
For the Hindu who said on affidavit that he was Indian through the NRC process . He had documents but they weren't consistent/had typos/his name was Ram Kumar in one, Ram Prasad in another. And now he can't claim to be from Afghanistan or Bangladesh or Pakistan.
