A refugees journey, a thread.
We left Serb controlled Bosnia in the middle of the night,paid off guards at checkpoints to let us thru to a town where buses were leaving for a refugee camp in Hungary. As we were approaching the border sirens were going off with bombers incoming/1
luckily the just flew by, we got to the border and the Hungarians wouldn’t let us in so we slept on the pavement at the border station. Eventually things got cleared up & we were taken to a old Soviet base turned refugee camp in Nagyatad Hungary.
We got there in fall of 1995, after living in a war zone for 3 years. My dad was forced to work for the Serbs at gun point and eventually he had enough and he and my mom decided to flee with my brother, grandma and I. At the camp we were first on the quarantine floor
