In this Newslaundry report, I was surprised to find a quote by a doctor that the injuries sustained by ABVP students last night seemed superficial

I mean, doctors don’t profile injured people like this. It’s neither possible nor professional.

Then I did some quick research :)
Thie report says the students were rushed to AIIMS. And quotes one Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti, introduced as ‘former president of the Resident Doctors’ Association at AIIMS who had rushed to the hospital’.

See his comment on ABVP students
Turns out this doctor is an anti-CAA activist who has been mobilising crowds against the Act and “Modi Shah”

NL, he is hardly an expert medical voice to be quoted for student injuries
This activist doctor’s statement is being passed as expert medical opinion of doctors who treated the students.

Can anyone help me with the contact of spokesperson of AIIMS pls? Would like to know if Dr Bhatti is authorised to speak to the media for the institute. Thanks.
More awesomeness. NL's headline says 'No one's really buying' ABVP claim that it wasn't responsible for mob violence.

Report quotes 4 ppl for the claim including Bhatti 😆
The doctor says he said it in personal capacity and it was not official from AIIMS
