This week’s simple recipe for folks who can’t cook are dead simple Chicken and Dumplings.

You’re gonna need:

1 chicken breast
2 chicken thighs
2 cans of biscuits (not flaky) (those grand biscuits)
40 oz. of chicken broth
Salt
Pepper
Savory/poultry seasoning
Oregano
Thyme
Alright. I know what I said earlier this week. But this is the one time you can boil chicken. Do it on low until that shit is falling apart. Then remove the chicken and take two forks to shred that shit. /2
Get out a big ass pot. Add the chicken stock. Add like 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of all the spices but that salt and pepper, of which you want to add about a teaspoon of each. Add the shredded chicken. Start that shit towards a boil.
Whole you’re doing that, pop open those biscuits. Take out a biscuit. Flatten the biscuit. Take a knife and make three lengthwise and three up to down cuts so you have 9 pieces of dough. Roll them into balls between your hands.
Do that with every biscuit. At some point the broth mixture will be BOILING AND ROILING. Turn the stove to low. Taste the broth and add salt and pepper, or any other spices, to taste from there.
Once you have all the biscuits sliced and rolled, pop those doughy balls in the broth. All of them. Stir them up real good. Then increase the heat to medium low and cover the pot.
Let those suckers simmer in that pot for about 9-12 minutes, popping the lid off for a stir every three minutes. When the biscuit pieces are plumped as hell and not uncooked dough, it’s done.
Turn off the heat, stir it up again and ladle it into a bowl. Salt and pepper the bowl if you want some more heat but you shouldn’t need it.
There you go. Simple as hell chicken and dumplings. Enjoy being the only person in your dorm with a home cooked meal, or sell the leftovers.
