Widely expected these rules will be adopted tomorrow - 51 of 100 senators need to vote for them and there are 54 Republicans.
Senior Republican leadership aide tonight downplaying chance of voting to dismiss the case straight away (as Trump has called for).

Aide also talking up the fact these basic rules are the same used for Clinton’s impeachment. (Logic which will be problematic for Republicans later - Clinton’s trial had witnesses).
