THREAD: I was at the gym this morning. Our coach used to be an entertainer on cruise ships. A bunch of her friends still work in the business. Apparently, a number of ships are stuck on the ocean & unable to dock due concerns about #2019nCoV#coronavirus#coronavirusoutbreak.
They're rationing food b/c it's unclear when they'll be allowed to dock. Keeping all these people on cruise ships isn't a good way to prevent disease transmission. It's not just #2019nCoV#coronavirus#coronavirusoutbreak. There's also #influenza#flu, #norovirus & more.
Why can't these ships dock on dry land, and then public health officials can determine if quarantine of everybody who was on the ship versus screening/testing/isolation is indicated? #2019nCoV#coronavirus#coronavirusoutbreak
If quarantine is indicated, this could be done in less crowded conditions, on dry land, where symptomatic persons would also have better access to medical care. #2019nCoV#coronavirus#coronavirusoutbreak

The oldest parts of the medina in Marrakech date back to the 12th century.
