THREAD: Jason Lewis has made one thing clear: all he wants to do is go back to Washington and push an uncompromising partisan agenda – even if it means supporting policies that hurt Minnesota families. #MNSEN dfl.org/media/jason-le…
In a recent interview, Lewis was asked if there was anything President Trump has done that he does not support or endorse. Lewis responded by saying, “Well, good policy is good politics. And I agree with his policies, so why would I oppose anything?” minnesota.cbslocal.com/video/4439781-…
When asked a second time if he disagrees with ANY Trump policies, Lewis said “I’m not going to psychoanalyze everything everybody’s said, everybody’s different. But again, good policy makes good politics and I agree with the policies.”
Translation: no.
Over the last three years, Trump and Republicans have pursued policies and taken actions that would hurt Minnesotans, such as trying to eliminate protections for people with pre-existing conditions -- both legislatively and in court. nytimes.com/2020/01/13/ups…
Trump and his team also proposed cuts programs like Medicare and Medicaid. In fact, Lewis recently rushed to embrace cuts to Social Security and Medicaid less than 24 hours after Trump announced plans to “look at” cuts to those programs. nytimes.com/2020/01/22/us/…
Minnesotans don’t want a Senator like Jason Lewis who is going to try and take away protections for people with pre-existing conditions or cut critical programs like Social Security and Medicare. dfl.org/media/senate-c…
We deserve a Senator who is going to always put the people of Minnesota first and who will work across parties to get things done – and that’s Senator Tina Smith.

BREAKING: this weekend at the @mngop convention, @KimCrockettSOS played a video that portrayed George Soros, a Jewish man, as a puppet master who is secretly controlling Minnesota's elections.
The "Jewish puppet master" is a longstanding and deeply anti-Semitic trope.
The stereotypes @KimCrockettSOS is using to fuel her campaign are centuries old and have caused incredible harm to the Jewish community both here in the United States and across the world.
Minnesota Republicans have chosen their most extreme and dangerous candidate to lead their party in the fall. We can’t allow Scott Jensen to become governor. #mngov dfl.org/press-release/…
Scott Jensen has promised to ban abortion, even for victims of rape and incest.
THREAD: We're demanding @mngop Chair @davidhann root out the dangerous political extremism that's taken over his party.
Time and time again, Minnesota Republicans have cozied up to violent extremists. It has to end. Here's just a few recent examples: dfl.org/press-release/…
Just yesterday, an MN GOP leader embraced the Oath Keepers, a violent, right-wing militia.
Numerous members of that extremist militia have been arrested and charged for plotting and carrying out the attempted January 6th insurrection. propublica.org/article/oath-k…
While this story is shocking, the GOP's embrace of the most extreme elements of the far-right is not w/o precedence. Just today it was revealed that State Senator @MarkkoranMN is raising money for men charged in the Jan 6 terrorist attack on the US Capitol minnesotareformer.com/briefs/gop-sta…
It is abundantly clear these Republican Representatives don’t want to know whether the January 6th insurrection was pre-planned and who was involved in that planning because they are scared of the answer.
By voting against holding Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress for refusing a subpoena, these Republican Representatives are abdicating the responsibilities of their office and trying to take the teeth out of Congress’ ability to investigate criminal behavior.
