So I have been a bit critical@of @nicholadrummond fantasy fleet of #Boxer vehicles for the @BritishArmy . Thinking about it today it occurred to me there might be a better option that would also appeal to the lads and improve retention. Surely @thinkdefence has written on this!
Motorbike battalions! No need for armour, low cost and it will be popular with the troops!
Deep strike has been proven and it will fit over the bridges in Europe!
Comes with a range of options and flexible weapon combinations.
Also available in electric so future proof!
Cancel strike now, there is another way.
So anyone who doubts the technology involved in this idea and its ability to retain solders, check out this video!

Do you know what this image is? It is a mock-up image of Project Waler, the IFV to be procured by the Australian Army in the 1980's. Somehow this project went from being a IFV to a dune buggy before it was cancelled.
Project Waler was cancelled by the Hawke ALP Government in July 1985 due to concerns over the cost and capabilities of the proposed vehicles. There is an excellent summary here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_W…
Lets hope that LAND 400-3 will continue to progress, yes it is expensive but it is the final piece in a program of the hardened and networked army started over 15 years ago.
Tank gets destroyed and people cry it’s the end of the tank. Hundreds of infantry get killed and we celebrate their lives. No one asks if the days of sending in poorly protected infantry are over? Lots of UAV get destroyed and no one claims the end of UAV. What is it about tank?
Why is the tank constantly the weapon system in the cross hairs when it comes to budgets or the end is coming. These tanks do not reflect basic TTP. Any miss employed system with poorly trained crews will fail!
Poorly protected, maintained for too long, no upgrades are a death trap! Why do people keeping weapons systems that are clearly obsolete and beyond their life of type.
Lots of discussion about MBT, IFV, JLTV, and vehicles getting bigger for protection. AJAX is big as well so what is the future of Formation Reconnaissance and Close Reconnaissance?
Is the future going to be robotic and autonomous, or is there now a need for a new class of reconnaissance vehicles?
Should we be considering Formation Reconnaissance as the place of the Boxer CRV or is Boxer CRV the wheeled IFV of the future to compliment the future Heavy IFV?
Too much talk about #tanks this week @nicholadrummond . Time for a new topic, what is the best infantry fighting vehicle pack? Can anything beat the turtle @thinkdefence . What work are you doing on this @thepagey . Overloaded infantry with big packs will not fit in modern IFV.
@2805662 have you seen anything that is setting a new benchmark? @Foliohat how big have the Finish packs got? What is the Russian gear like for packs and AFV @gunner_schmulke ?
Is there a pick that works well with vehicle and has utility in a dismounted role?@MAGTravF has the USMC stopped trying to do the one size fits all pack (ALICE my back still hurts). @lachlan_poppins anything interesting from Rheinmetall?
