1) New way to identify cynical political opportunists: Anyone using the term "corporate slush fund" or "bailout." Slush funds are when Washington gives companies cash to spend on bogus priorities. Bailouts are what happens when companies mismanage, and ask Washington to fix it
2) This emergency, by contrast, is what happens when government forcibly shuts down the economy, and biz (through no fault of its own) is left with no revenue and spiraling payroll/overhead costs. That's what this Senate bill is aimed at helping.
3) Memo to Democrats: The companies you are trashing employ people. Most people. This bill will get loans/grants to biz, to enable them to continue employing people through this shutdown, rather than lay them off. Every dollar going to a biz is in fact helping "working families."
4) Anyone who doesn't get this basic point should be disqualified from ongoing grown-up discussions.
