Question- India responded too late to Coronavirus?
Short answer- NO!

Long Answer -

✅ Jan: India started testing and screening at airport for everyone coming from hotspot countries

✅ Jan - March: Increased number of testing kits from 20,000 to 1,000,000 allowed..
...anyone with synonyms to be tested

✅ Beginning of March: India had 6 confirmed cases, it closed borders (incoming passengers) to hotspot countries: Japan, China, Italy, Korea

✅ March 12: India had 70 cases, it suspender ALL visas for ALL countries for ONE MONTH
✅ During next 10 days in a phased manner:
👉 Schools, restaurant, pubs, etc closed down
👉 all trains were cancelled (NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE)
👉all metros were cancelled
👉 IPL was called off

✅ March 22: We did mock drill of nationwide curfew

✅ March 25: NATIONWIDE LOCKDOWN
✅ As per WHO representative in India, Mr. Henk Bekedam, "India has managed to keep cases low by responding fast and aggressively" (March 17th, NewYork Times)
