These are the numbers from Wales. They are routinely left off national reporting but numbers from Gwent (Aneurin Bevan health board) are shocking & far in excess of London & Cardiff & Vale only slightly behind
Meanwhile, the whole of Wales has a grand total of 176 critical care beds

Number 10 sticks the boot into the cabinet secretary rather than take responsibility & ‘insiders’ run interference in the FT
Luckily for Number 10, the FT buys it. Or at least writes it all down before suggesting in one line at the end, that perhaps -perhaps! - some may find fault with Boris Johnson. First though, blame the NHS

Here’s a question: why is Matt Hancock out of isolation after 6 days?
Why is UK advice (7 days) different from WHO’s (14 days)?
Here’s another question: Hancock says only 5% of doctors are off work with illness. That’s a national figure & doesn’t include other NHS staff. Isn’t he just trying to massage the figures? Look at this from Great Ormond Street
