-clock in / clock out
-dress for it (i always wear a button down, sometimes a tie if im not packing boxes / painting)
-recognize when ur hitting a wall + address it
-take a minute to read the news / twitter or whatever before clocking in
-plan the next day the evening before
music wise its good to have something constant and that doesnt vary too much in the background. what that is for me changes. or ill put on long podcasts that im only mildly interested in, shows ive seen before, the radio, things that are like a 6/10 in terms of interesting
cant neglect the talismanic power of objects + clothes. i even have a hat that i almost always wear in the studio. anything to "carve out the space" for "work mode". you can go to a wage job and be in it for 8 hours straight but have trouble focusing at home. why. think about it
