The much anticipated equality, justice and love song produced by Levites Music, a media advocacy project of Levites Initiative for Freedom and Enlightenment, support by ISDAO is finally out.
We chose to release this song online on the day of my birthday to mark the beginning of a new era of intentional and radical strategy of using music as a tool for advocacy and a source of therapy for LGBTIQ community in Nigeria.

HOMOSEXUALITY is not an Abomination!!! Pastors should know better other than spewing disinformation and lies. Sexual orientation or gender identity is never and can’t be sinful. *Long Thread.
There are three basic human sexual orientation which are homosexuality, bisexuality and heterosexuality, one is more right or wrong than the other. Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed cause of “homosexuality”
rather wickedness and inhospitable attitudes towards the poor and strangers, read Ezekiel 16:49-50. The record in Genesis 19:1-29 is part of the humiliation that the tribe of sodom melt on any strangers that enters the city and spends the night without the King’s order or notice.
The past week had been very challenging, yet fulfilling and progressive for the work that we are doing in combating blackmailing/extortion targeting sexual and gender minorities within communities around Asaba, Delta State Nigeria; through social media hookup sites e.g. Grindr
Since 2018, we had launch an action through advocacy and community sensitization to address blackmailing, extortion, arbitrary arrest, mob violence and family/church rejection based on real or perceive sexual orientation, particularly in Delta State.
From that moment until now, we received multiple reports of both documented and undocumented, resolved and unresolved cases involving extortion, blackmailing, police arrest, sexual/physical violence against real or perceived gay men who are targeted through social media hookups.
Presently at the DCO 1’s office at Asaba GRA police division to hear a case against sex workers.
Details soon.
Meanwhile, it’s a new month and a holiday. #endpolicearbitraryarrest
So it happened that I was called upon yesterday by one of our Female Sex Worker(FSW) client that she and 12 other sex workers were arrested by the Asaba GRA police division at one of their hotspots in Asaba around 10:30pm for violating the Delta State COVID-19 pandemic curfew
On getting to station, 9 out of the 12 girls had bailed themselves, some with as much as #10,000; the minimum was #4,000. I was directed to meet with the DCO 1. During the meeting, he confirmed that they were arrested at one of the police’s “black spots” during curfew hour.
Social media hookup sites have been compromised by criminals and hoodlums, citing SSMPA and religious belief as backup to lure, blackmail, extort, detain, torture even murder gay and trans women in Nigeria.
Okwe, Oduke, Ibusa and Ogwuashi in Delta State are hotspots now.
“Ignorance is a form of disability” From the stables of an amazing woman I know. Ignorance about the comprehensive human sexuality and respect of the human rights of all persons is greater disability. SMH
Religious fanatics ignorance concerning same-sex committed and loving relations is a mental disorder that can only be cure with acquired knowledge, openness to human realities, the ability to listen to the witness of LGBTIQ persons.
I am first a sexual rights and gender justice activist before any other title.
I can’t keep quiet in the face of injustice and unfair politics.
I am already at the table to speak for my community and no one can shut my voice down.
Even when you ignore my complaints, you cannot erase my presence.
I cannot betray my conscience or undermine the realities of unfair and unjust politicking within the community I represent, simply because of fear been called the trouble maker or ‘clown’ because I have not eaten the forbidden fruit of ass-licking and eye-service.
