2. The new restrictions placed yesterday require special certification from the manufacturer, in short, new traceability rules. That link the products right to the machine & production line. Effectively this means only PPE manufactured in China can now be exported.
3. There’s a lot of the world’s stock of top quality PPE in warehouses in China, stuff that was bought up & shipped to China before the world fully understood the risk. This stock is ‘the best stuff’. Some of it has been purchased by donors & others to bring back to the West.
4. The new regulations imposed mean that all that PPE isn’t allowed to leave as it needs the new ‘traceability’ forms. I know of cases where it’s already been blocked, stuff that was being bumped off airfreight flights for over a week for reasons explained here in last few days.
5. These new restrictions also mean that the Communist Party now has even more control over what PPE gets to be sent & even more importantly for them, who gets to send & receive it. It also locks the ‘Western’ stuff into China. The stuff they pulled in before the alarm went off.
