There are people desperate to believe Trump will change or grow.

He is incapable. As an authoritarian, his insecurity and addiction to attention will sabotage every organization and create crises within crises. Any shift in tone is blatant manipulation.

You’ve watched Trump in the public eye for five decades now. He is walking, talking poison. He destroys everything. His relationships, his businesses, and now the country. There is no changing for Trump. He is a broken, broken man. It’s way past time to recognize the hard truth.
This is a cycle, an authoritarian cycle. Trump’s desperate insecurity will destroy an collaborative effort, keep him from trusting experts, and will only lead to murderous scapegoating of his enemies and eventually seizing of power.

Just so we're all clear, the Republican Party is intentionally making elections deadly in an attempt to drive down numbers.

We can't tiptoe around this. Call it "strategy." It's not. It's an anti-democratic movement and this behavior is just ghoulish.
Make no mistake, efforts to secure the November presidential election will be fought tooth and nail by Republicans who know that making voting safe and convenient will doom them as a party.

If we want free and fair elections, we need to start NOW. There's simply no time to waste
But we cannot allow Republicans to leverage a deadly pandemic as a means to drive down voter participation or have elections canceled. We can't continue acting like any of this is normal or humane or acceptable.

We're in dangerous times and these are dangerous people.

What's happening in Wisconsin is a crime against the people. Forcing them to go against public health warnings and risk their lives to vote is the logical endpoint of the GOP's war on free and fair and elections.

We need to look at Wisconsin today and realize that if we're going to have elections in November, if we're going to continue as a liberal democracy in any way, shape, or form, we'd better get serious about planning and reform.

We don't have any time to spare.
Let’s be clear. The Republican Party attacks elections, makes them inconvenient, opposes reform, and actively disenfranchises people because it knows, as a political body, it cannot win free and fair elections.

This isn’t disputed. They’ve said as much. And it’s fascistic.

The thing you need to understand about the Trump Administration is that there is no Trump Administration.

There's an illusion of a government presented by a collection of criminals whose only concern is further dismantling government to accelerate profit and consolidate power.
The Trump Administration is the final movement in a decade's old effort by Republicans to destroy governance completely and move the directing of society to the wealthy and markets.

Trump is the deathblow. He's not there to solve problems or save lives.

When the pandemic set in, the first goal of the Trump Administration was to pretend it didn't exist. It was a corporate PR strategy. Once it became unhideable, the question became: how can we profit from this?

We have to realize we're not watching politics-as-usual.
