The states are very white and rural.

West Virginia is particularly interesting. It is the 3rd poorest state in the US.

The state has the highest rate of drug deaths in the US, the highest rate of obesity, and the highest rate of smoking.

Nevertheless, WV has only 4 COVID deaths.

Total population was 32 million.

Last week the overall US mortality rate dropped like a rock because we stayed at home more and did nothing.

Fascinating.

It's difficult for me to wrap my mind around how much suffering the Civil War caused.
