You know, it *is possible* she's telling the truth and the decision was made by a good investment manager, without her knowledge. Just because the general public failed to put two and two together doesn't mean a shrewd investment manager would.
We should all have seen this coming. It wasn't classified. It wasn't secret. Some people did see it coming. Her investment manager may have been one of them.
Presumably, given who her husband is, they hired someone who's good at this. He became good at this by not being as dumb as the rest of us. Perhaps he--or she--saw the headlines, put two and two together, and managed their money shrewdly.
She may have just been an idiot who didn't take the briefing seriously. Good enough reason not to re-elect her, but perhaps not to be certain she's the most evil woman in the history of the human race.
