Trump attacks @GovPritzker, who criticized federal coronavirus response efforts on TV today: "There is a governor, I hear him complaining all the time, Pritzker. He is always complaining ... He has not performed well."
Dr. Trump touts unproven and potentially dangerous drugs: "Erythromycin, which will kill certain things that you don't want living within your body. It's a powerful drug ... what do you have to lose?"
After touting unproven and potentially dangerous drugs, Trump says: "What do I know? I'm not a doctor. I'm not a doctor. But I have common sense."
Trump said absolutely nothing new during the opening remarks of his April 5 #TrumpPressBriefing. I don't see the purpose of doing this today other than for Trump to get his daily dose of attention and counterprogram other shows he'd rather people not watch.
The optics of Trump standing next to graphs of exploding coronavirus cases in the US seem not great for him
Rear Adm. John Polowczyk can't say "hydroxychloroquine"
Trump on why he's giving medical advice even though he's not a doctor: "What really do we have to lose? ... we don't have time to go and say, 'gee, let's take a couple of years and test it out' ... it doesn't kill people." (This last point re: hydroxychloroquine is not true.)
REPORTER: Why not let the science speak for itself? Why are you promoting hydroxychloroquine?
TRUMP: I want them to try it. And it may work and it may not work.
REPORTER: Doctors can already prescribe it
TRUMP: Only CNN would ask that question. Fake news
Trump alludes to Democratic governors and mayors and says "we're getting along with a lot people" like he deserves a prize or something
Hours after his Surgeon General warned that the next two weeks will be a "Pearl Harbor moment," Trump says this about businesses reopening: "Right now things are looking really good and opening up with a bang will be a great thing. No one is gonna be happier than me."
Trump can't answer questions about when the ventilators GM and Ford are supposedly making will be available
Here's Trump rambling at length about what he thinks are the best ways to build and pave highways during a press briefing supposedly about the coronavirus
"We are meant to be the backup": @KellyO asks Trump a leading question basically inviting him to say he's taking more of a leadership role -- and Trump still won't do it
"The people that [helped the states with coronavirus response] are amazing and they have to be appreciated by the states. Not me. They don't have to appreciate me at all. I don't care about me." -- Trump
"For any country. Our country had the greatest economic boom in history," Trump says, falsely. Growth was stronger for periods under Obama, not to mention numerous previous eras!
Dr Fauci tries to do some cleanup on Trump's "light at the end of the tunnel" talking point by reminding people that the next two weeks are going to be bad and lots of people are going to die
"I answered this 15 times. You don't have to answer." -- Trump prevents Dr Fauci from answering a question about hydroxychloroquine
"You should be thanking them for what they have done, not always asking wise guy questions" -- Trump ends the press briefing by berating an Associated Press reporter who dared to ask him about the government's slow response to coronavirus

Biden, delivering commencement address to Morehouse, talks about the car crash that killed his wife & daughter & the death of his son Beau.
"In this walk of life, you come to understand that we don't know where or what fate will bring you. But we also know you don't walk alone."
moving stuff from Biden to Morehouse grads
"The pandemic robbed you of so much... you started college just as George Floyd was murdered... it's natural to wonder if the democracy you hear about actually works for you... are we living up to what we say we are as a nation?... faith asks you to hold on to hope... that's my commitment to you. To show you democracy is still the way."
Biden to Morehouse grads: "I want to say this very clearly -- I support peaceful nonviolent protest ... I'm working for around the clock for more than just a ceasefire. I'm working to bring the region together ... I'm working to make sure we finally get a two state solution."
"We're here at the beck and call of Trump fanatics" -- Plaskett plays a clip of Bartiromo criticizing Jim Jordan's leadership of the "weaponization" committee during a weaponization committee hearing lol
Plaskett: "No, Donald, even a president can't shoot someone on 5th Avenue on broad daylight and get away with it."
She then takes a shot at RFK Jr, noting that Jordan called him in to testify despite him missing "part" of "his brain"
"You know better and it is shameful" -- Rep. Goldman points out that Republicans and their witnesses are using Jim Jordan's latest "weaponization" hearing as part of Trump's effort to jury tamper

Biden: "Germany, 1933, Hitler & his Nazi Party rise to power by rekindling one of the world's oldest forms of prejudice & hate- antisemitism. His rule didn't begin with mass murder. It started slowly across economic, political, social, & cultural life. Propaganda demonizing Jews"
Biden: "That hatred was brought to life on October 7, 2023 ... the terrorist group Hamas unleashed the deadliest day against the Jewish people since the Holocaust ... now, here we are, just 7.5 months later, and people are already forgetting that Hamas unleashed this terror."
Biden, speaking at a Holocaust remembrance event, is forcefully denouncing Hamas and antisemitism on college campuses and social media
KRISTI NOEM: As soon as this was brought to my attention, I made some changes and looked at this passage
BRENNAN: So you did not meet with Kim Jong Un?
NOEM: I've met with many world leaders. I'm not going to talk about specifics.
BRENNAN: You never went to North Korea
NOEM: Yes I have. I've been there.
BRENNAN ... you have?
NOEM: There are details in this book that talk about going to the DMZ
Noem tries to portray herself as a victim because Brennan is asking her about egregious lies in her book and also doesn't take responsibility for the errors
