I made a cherry apple crumb top pie based on the Classic Apple Pie family recipe in @altonbrown’s #GoodEats cookbook. It’s my first 🥧 home run fruit pie. “Perfect,” said my man. We ate fat slices for breakfast. No photo some things are just for me. Use a pie bird! Alton says so.

One of my other favorite things about Alton Brown is that he has always been hard-core anti-single-function-kitchen-gadget. Bless him. He could’ve made a lot of money not being that guy. But he is just true to what he knows. And to his audience.
Here’s why it’s a crumb top I fucked up and didn’t make enough fucking pie crust. I broke Lotus Biscoff cookies into dust crumbles with a rolling pin and sprinkled the cookie glitter on top of my fruit filling and carefully baked to avoid burning.
Here’s why it’s an apple cherry pie I only had four apples and there were some cherries in the freezer and there’s a pandemic so I can’t just go to the store for bullshit like I used to.
