NEW: A traffic jam is building in support of a post-coronavirus ‘9/11 commission’ to review U.S. handling of the pandemic.

Four proposals are circulating in the House — and some are drawing bipartisan support. politico.com/news/2020/04/0…
Republicans are already blasting SCHIFF’s as an impeachment redux. Yet it’s practically a carbon copy of the 9/11 commission structure and nearly identical to a bipartisan proposal offered by Reps. Murphy/Katko.

The Schiff/Murphy proposals both feature 10-member commissions composed exactly like the 9/11 commission — with equal D/R membership and the president naming a chair.

Both would likely not begin working until after the 2020 election. politico.com/news/2020/04/0…
A third proposal from Illinois Republican Rodney Davis (also with bipartisan support) is structured similarly but doesn’t provide for subpoena power or security clearances.

And a 4th from Homeland Security Chairman Thompson has 25 members.

ALSO: Schiff says he's been consulting with Tim Roemer, a former Democratic congressman and one of the architects of the original 9/11 commission bill, on the structure of the coronavirus panel.
