I thought hydroxychloroquine was interesting for a hot second, but now I'm pretty sure it's a scam. The studies supporting it are too fraud-y, and docs are using it on the front lines everywhere and see no effect. Every expert I hear from thinks it's not for real.
We'll get a good COVID-19 treatment eventually, maybe a lot sooner than people think, but I'd bet good money this one isn't it.
In the meantime, in the highly likely scenario that hydroxychloroquine doesn't work, lots of cranks and Trump cultists will insist for years that it *did* work, and maybe even continue to stockpile it, but if they get sick they'll use the thing that actually works.
