Bernie’s campaign was always going to be a long shot, a fight against the hegemony of power and capital backed by a complicit party

Against all odds, Bernie’s campaign has shifted our politics dramatically
His policies once considered an unthinkable pipe dream are more popular than ever

The people who will suffer most are the most vulnerable in our communities and it’s for that reason the struggle and movement must continue—it’s beyond any one person or candidate
Defeating Trump is paramount but I cannot help but shudder at what happens if the conditions that made him possible are not addressed. A return to “normalcy” is not adequate

The next Trump may not be as incompetent as the current one
I hope in the years to come more people will run at the local level and get involved in grassroots activism

A movement that hinges it all on electoral politics was never going to be the cure. It was only one piece of the puzzle.
