One of the key principles of ‘Democracy as a Platform’ must be civic conditionality - or rules-based support (be it in the form of investment, loans, grants or tax breaks)
The resilient economy and society we want is one where companies *can* fail and investors *can* lose money, without society itself failing, or anyone falling into intolerable poverty.

That’s a principle that I think most people support.
