I feel like using this holiday period to dish out some interesting facts from Australia in a staggered thread. No #MedTute ( pls dont tempt me).

Just like the Uk, Japan, India etc, Australia drives on the left side of the road, so wheels on right, you can still drive a car with left hand wheels as long as you drive per the normal road rules. Around 70% of cars are automatic transmission.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are the Indigenous Australians and where first on the soil with a rich history and culture. The current number one female tennis player in the world at time of typing this is Ash Barty. She is an indigenous Australian.
During the historic Apollo 11 first moon landing. 3 satellites where installed to receive signals from the moon.(2 in Aus and 1 in USA). During the landing, the best images and sound came from the Australian satellite & was relayed to the world, ~600 million people watched it.

Melbourne was consistently voted for 7 years in a row up until 2018 as the most livable city in the world by the EIU closely followed by Sydney. Its currently 2nd in the world. Its the center of the Australian Open tennis tournament and the capital of Victoria.
The Akubra hat is native to Australia. It originated in Tasmania and is now worn everywhere in the world.
Kangaroos are native to Australia however, some can be found in NZ and PNG with some ?sightings in USA. The theory is that they probably originated from S.America during the Gondwaland period. Theyre marsupials and herbivores.

One of the most iconic building in Aust is the Sydney Opera house. Completed in 1973 after 14 years and costing ~$102 Million, paid for by the state lottery and commisioned by Queen Elizabeth. When opera is in play, the temp is kept constant at 22.5C. Its a world heritage site.
Melanasians, the major group of Torres Islanders a tribe of Indigenous Australians, are the only black people with natural independent blonde hair attributed to a particular gene.
The Tasmanian Devil is native only to Tasmania the smallest state in Australia. Its the largest carnivorous marsupial and weight for weight has the strongest bite of any carnivore in the world. Bites through metal bars easily.
Tasmania has the cleanest air in the world.
