I do wish people had believed me when I said Trump was unable, cognitively, to discharge the duties of the presidency. That "president" was a job that required the ability to read. That a president's power was so great that someone lacking that ability could do vast harm.
I've been wrong about many things in my life, and I understand why people wouldn't view my judgment as infallible. But I was right about this, and the way I reasoned it through was also right. I wish people hadn't been so stubborn, and I wish they'd listened to me.
The words "See! I told you so!" don't help when trying to persuade people to change their minds. They just alienate and harden people in their beliefs. I'm not saying this for those people. This is for everyone else who warned, "He can't be president. This is just too dangerous."
We have to figure out a way to make sure he doesn't get re-elected. The temptation to scream at people who voted for him is, right now, almost irresistible. Don't give in to it. It will just alienate people and harden them in their beliefs.
