Pelosi and Schumer also reiterate call for more funding for food stamps, changes to the small business loan program and add this demand: “However, there is still not enough testing available to realistically allow” Americans go back to normal life.
“We Democrats demand adequate funding for the production and distribution of national rapid testing and Personal Protective Equipment – it cannot wait. ..
“The collection and publication of demographic data are also desperately needed, so that we can accurately determine the level of impact on under-served communities and communities of color and direct needed resources to them immediately.”
McConnell and McCarthy said this weekend that there should just be another $250B for small business. And the rest should wait until the next larger package, they said. So the two sides are very far apart on what is needed now
