of jobs that will afford them little protection from the virus. Trump knows the risks to the African American community if he attempts to re-open the economy early but it is apparent he would view them as a mere casualty of his war against the novel coronavirus. History may well
look back on his Presidency if he tries to open early and say he selfishly attempted to save his empire from a looming depression and his re-election by using what amounted to methods like the Holocaust to keep America running. In the meantime he attached to an aid bill
a 99 billion dollar tax cut for those earning one million dollars a year or more. It is clear a May 1 opening will prolong the pandemic and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Counting those cases that cannot be tested which make up the vast majority of cases in the US, there
are currently 3 million cases. By May 1st that number will have risen to approx. 6.8 million confirmed and unconfirmed cases. If we continue the lockdown by May 14 it will likely rise to 15 million. If Trump is successful lifting of the lockdown on May 1, on May 14 the
confirmed and unconfirmed COVID 19 cases in that 14 days will grow to a staggering 35.9 million people. Clearly the price is to high to open up the economy to early and African Americans will to be suffering approx. 60% of the brunt of this virus despite their percentage of
the total population in the infected areas being far less.
