This is a common one. It's not true though in the UK.

We have protection against sex discrimination and specific exceptions where it is ok to discriminate based on sex (eg for bodily privacy, personal hygiene)
You can't just play sex - gender word games otherwise a service provider or employer could use "gender"to discriminate illegitimately between men and women and then say "oh no that wasn't sex discrimination that was gender and there are no laws against gender discrimination"
The idea that you can put up this sign and not be using EqA single and seperate sex exceptions because you've uttered the word "gender" is just silly

🙄 You know thats not a 'right' you can reserve ?!

Because refusing entry on the basis of protected characteristics is *discrimination*

Whenever we talk on here about whether males can be excluded from female changing rooms, showers, toilets etc.. it quickly disintegrates into "are you going to check genitals, birth certificates, chromosomes etc..... "

Like this is the ultimate gotcha.
The thing is the single sex exceptions are not the only ones in the Equality Act.

There are also exceptions which allow service providers to discriminate on the grounds of age, pregnancy & other protected characteristics, if there is a good reason for the policy.
