Fb post, photos at end

“Easter Sunday as a Christian, I celebrated the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. Easter Sunday is also the day that we passed the 10,000 mark for the number of dead in my city of New York. Instead of one "death truck", which means a
16 wheel refrigerator truck, with shelves installed to stack layers of the dead, there is now a second truck filling up parked on my street. Mind you, this is Lenox Hill Hospital, which is only a 450 bed hospital in normal times, but now holds 600. Compared to Cornell Weill ten
blocks from here that holds 2700 beds, now probably 4000. It is a safe assumption that there are about 18 to 20 trucks there. Enough to fill a parking lot for truckers at a truck stop. Filled with bodies in bags with name tags on shelves.

Why am I saying this? Because I want
to stick to facts because facts are not lies or fake news. I have NO political agenda here. I want you also to see the second photo sent today by my best friend from college who lives on 19th Street and this is the view of HIS death truck on 19th Street from his apartment
outside Mother Cabrini Hospital.

I'm staying up again to write this tonight, which is not really what I want to do to calm my evening down. But I write because I read a post from a friend on Facebook today who is a hairdresser in Michigan, and he was praising his governor for
shutting down the state to save lives and to bend the curve.
A comment below his post was from a salon owner who simply stated that the governor was wrong, and that he was "a business owner" and that he was "done with this "bull----" and that next week he was going out and
working and that this fake media hype was not going to stop him and ruin his business.

So I sent him the photos of the trucks.
Not to argue with him, but to try sincerely help him.

What we all choose to do has consequences. If he does go out and run his salon in defiance of
the governor, I don't know what will happen. I suspect he will start calling clients. But again, I go to the numbers.

If you are a successful talented stylist, and I say this as an artist myself, but who is a salon designer, you can call up your clients, and go , and go
to their homes and cut or color their hair. They will be grateful, I am sure. It will go well.
And this is what the numbers say. If you have 6 to 8 clients a day, that is 30 to 40 per week. Each client you service encounters the people they are sequestered with. Let's say
4 people. So you yourself are exposed to 120 people a week. But let's cut that in half to 60. After one week or two, you will have been exposed to the virus statistically.

If you do not develop symptoms for a week, you will expose 30 to 40 clients to the virus, which they
will then expose their families to. To their husbands, and their kids, and maybe the grandmother they are sheltering with. That means about 100 to 160 people. Statistically, one or two of them will die if they all get it. One if only half get it, then it will take you an other
week to kill someone.

If you wish to argue with my numbers, that is fine. But we are answerable for our actions. If not to anyone on Facebook, well, then to yourself in the end. At least in my belief system.

Actually, I am not writing this for myself tonight. I was looking
at the trucks yesterday, and thinking about the posts I was reading, thinking about the stress of all of you who have no jobs and no work and bills that fill you with fear, as they do me.....and I wished that all of you could see the trucks. It sounds crazy, but they keep my
resolve resolute.

I am writing to all of you because the people on those trucks are silent. And my eyes are filling right now because they cannot write to you and say, "Don't do this......don't risk this.....don't be here beside me.....or send others into this truck..... to
lay in a bag and wait to be sent back home".

There. I've said what they have asked, and I can lay down this weight that I have felt for two days, and stop hitting REPLY individually to talk to people who think that I am just an opinion.
These trucks are not an opinion. They are as real as real can ever be.

I hope these 10,000 New Yorkers can help you, as surely as I hope they have risen on Easter. And if not that, then at least I hope they get home to the families who loved them.
They will be coming home cold. Know that.”
