Like everything else with this fraud of a presidency, the Committee to Reopen America is just an illusion, a lie that doesn't convince anyone but is only told because people expect a lie to be told.

Authoritarian regimes blend the illusion of competency and outright fraud. Releasing a Committee to Reopen America that is obviously unequipped and devoid of experts provides an illusion with a message to everyone that reality doesn't matter.

It's meant to break our will.
It's organized crime operating behind the veneer of legitimacy. Everyone knows the crime is being committed. Everyone sees it. And as they see it and as nothing is done it just communicates that the law doesn't matter.

This is how authoritarians work. We're knee-deep in it.
The Committee To Reopen America is an affront, an obvious insult. It tells the American people and anyone paying attention that they're not even trying to hide their apathy and malfeasance.

This is how authoritarians break the will of their societies.

The Reopen America "protests" are faux-events paid for by Right Wing billionaires like the DeVos's trying to recreate a Tea Party-like fake populist movement that Trump can use to pretend there's support for putting Americans in danger.

These events are being treated as if they're organic, grassroots protests, but they're completely fabricated manipulations that mirror the fabricated Tea Party movement and the strategies Vladimir Putin used to interfere in the 2016 Election.

They're fakes. Complete fakes.
Unfortunately, Fox News is pushing them, just like they pushed the fake Tea Party movement that was sponsored by billionaires like the Kochs.

And, regular media is falling for it as well, reporting on it all without giving the proper context and background that it's propaganda.

First things first, the "protest" in Michigan was a fake, pseudo-event carried out by the DeVos family and other billionaires looking to craft fake movements to serve their financial interests.

There's a long, long history of this.
