#PalmyraSimilarities
A short (?) thread with my not necessarily very logical associations about #Palmyra and the wreaths.
The examples of wreaths from priests' modiuses #Palmyra Syria. All three wreaths have a flower in the centre. The exact meaning of different central medallions is not known, they are probably associated with different cults in Palmyra. Different time (4th-3rd C BCE), different place, but this Etruscan wreath reminds me of Palmyra
I'm happy to read the technical description: The leaves and the rosettes are sewn with wires to a ribbon of thin gold sheet
Note the Gorgoneia heads at the ends

The theme of a wreath with a flower / rosette in the centre also appears in the architecture of Palmyra, on the friezes of, among others, the theater (last photo).
