Day #3 of #opvile, we will be going over processes in which to obtain bitcoin with or without KYC. In the case of having to use KYC, we will be discussing the proper process in order to avoid having your bitcoin tracked. Bitcoin is digital cash and it is software, lets be smart.
There are a couple of paths to obtain bitcoin without KYC, though most common of these methods will require you to do some SMS verification, luckily we covered that in day #1 of #opvile on obtaining a burner phone not associated with your personal account and will allow a decent
amount of anonymity. The most common method described here is usage of a bitcoin ATM, you can find one in your area with a simple search using Tor on your secured device and not over your network, use those free wifi points left open at businesses that are currently closed. Now,
be sure to do your recon on the location and understand what cameras and follow the same advice and use mask, gloves, and clothing that may not have been seen in that location. Do make sure you follow this or you could still be tracked. Once location is found it is showtime, go!
The second method is finding someone whom you may know to sell you coins, you know how this process would work just like any other transaction with another human being. Just do not transact with people you do not know personally as scammers and fraudsters are pretty common. There
are a few other services, that might still exist but these two cover the biggest method. Another method that does not require KYC is going to take a bit of a time investment and that is mining other cryptocurrency in order to exchange for bitcoin. When choosing this path please
note you should determine what exchanges the coin you choose to mine is available for trade on and confirm they do not require KYC, you are not trading for cash in this case but btc. DO NOT KEEP ANY COINS ON EXCHANGES. You are simply using them as a service to convert one to btc.
You will need to do your own research on this but there are plenty of exchanges you can utilize for this, just keep in mind their requirements of confirmations. You will want to limit your time using the exchange and rely on that device you setup for day 2 setup. Lastly we should
address handling the fact you may have KYC bought bitcoin or it is your only option as the others do not apply to your region, for this you are going to need to setup a core node. You can download it from here: bitcoincore.org/bin/bitcoin-co… or you can use bitcoin.org site.
Find the right installer and start syncing, this can take some time so in the interim lets get ready for the steps you will need to take post this. You will need to setup two wallets, the first one is the wallet you will send to from a KYC service. This wallet will be referred to
as walletA for the duration of this. Once your peer is done syncing, simply send from the service you purchased your bitcoin from to walletA, from here you will now need to create an entirely new wallet, we shall refer to it as walletB. Once you have received your coins in the
walletA, you will need to allow some time for confirmations. I would suggest at this point downloading whirlpool by @SamouraiWallet it can be found here: samouraiwallet.com/download/whirl… . Once you have downloaded the whirlpool and installed simply follow instructions the instructions on
support.samourai.io/article/82-und…, follow each step and from there you will be sending to your walletB from walletA, this will provide you with mixed utxo's and allow you to use your bitcoin without ties to the origins. This process should take you a couple of hours your first go around.
Samourai is fast, but you should take this time to read and understand what is going on. I suggest doing this during your node syncing. Now it is also best practice to do this mixing process for all btc transactions as it is for your privacy, one thing to keep in mind during this
is that there is a lot of chainanalytics and plenty of companies looking to doxx users. Use the whirlpool and be smart, Wasabi is provably not safe, do not trust any custodial services that offer mixes either. This is why you should be taking this time to understand what is at
your fingertips. Once you have completed your first whirlpool mixes it will become like second nature to do so. I would also suggest using the Samourai mobile mixer/wallet if you did obtain that lovely burner phone we discussed on day 1. You should also never reuse your public
address for any transaction, use a new one each time. Another pro tip many of the LARPing maxi’s tend to forget is never under any circumstances publicly claim ownership or post an address that is yours, this is a liability. Remember it is immutable and archives of sites exist.
In closing, I want to point out that if you have questions or need help my dm's are always open. Use this information to protect yourself and your loved one’s. Keep bitcoin in the streets, it is digital cash. Do not use lightning it is pure trash and at best is a good experiment,
do not rely on experiments, use core. We are going to be discussing something super special tomorrow, and I really do not want to give any hints. There is more to come for #opvile and if you have any topics you want covered, dm's are always open. Stay vile.
