The NYT's awful Willie Horton 2.0 story does not make it clear that THIS PERSON WAS ALREADY ELIGIBLE FOR RELEASE. You have to read the Tampa Bay Times to find that out. Outrageously irresponsible reporting from the NYT.

I know our cheerleaders of mass incarceration are searching desperately for a new Willie Horton so they can criticize coronavirus-related early releases and condemn more people to die behind bars from COVID-19. But this ain't it.
Perhaps the NYT could spend a little less time searching for Willie Hortons and a little more time reporting on the thousands of incarcerated people who are contracting coronavirus in jails and prisons across the country.

No punches pulled in Dennis' dissent.

Even for Duncan and Elrod, this opinion is remarkably disingenuous. It pretends that a 1905 decision about mandatory vaccinations governs this case, rather than nearly 50 years of abortion precedent. Just so brazenly dishonest.
Good on Judge Dennis. The Fifth Circuit has refused to follow abortion precedent since Kennedy retired, and it's not hard to guess why. These judges will defy any precedent that compels them to protect abortion access.

WOW: By a 5–4 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court reverses a lower court order extending the deadline for mail-in ballots in Wisconsin. All four liberals dissent.

The conservative majority just effectively threw out thousands of ballots. Incredible.
