This is insane. Dan Kelly, who just lost re-election to the WI Supreme Ct despite GOP voter suppression, now says on the way out the door he'll reverse his decision to recuse from a case brought by his former employer that could deregister 200,000 voters. jsonline.com/story/news/pol…
I'm not a fan of judicial elections in general, but if we are going to have them, there should DEFINITELY not be a three month lame-duck period in which judges get to hear cases voters explicitly said they want someone else to rule on.
For those who don't know, the issue of whether Kelly would recuse himself from this voting rights case, which was brought by a right-wing group he has a professional relationship with, was a BIG issue in this election.
It is likely a big factor in why voters rejected him.
