Many of Peter Navarro's appearances saying economic impact would be limited from the slowdown in China or that there was "nothing to worry about" were within just a couple days of his January and February memos.

"'Nothing to worry about' indicates the American people should be confident in the strong leadership of President Trump handling the crisis, NOT the seriousness of the crisis itself. To suggest otherwise is simply mischief and fake news."

This is such nonsense. None of these “similar” comments have dates. I had to look them up. It repeatedly compares comments from conservative figures in late February and March to comments in *January*
One example compares Devin Nunes telling people to go to a bar or restaurant on *March 15th* to comments from early February. Schools were already closed and NYC closed bars and restaurants that day.
The only person trying to "rewrite history" here is the article. The reason conservative media was making these comments is because they were trying to be contrarian to the mainstream press – which by that time they were claiming were being alarmist.
