We’re supposed to be the west end, the best end. Get your Census done: my2020census.gov.

Count the babies, toddlers, college students, granny, gramps, e’erbody.

We need 💰for schools, housing, health care, those jacked up roads.

DYK that after the civil war the Freedmen’s & Refugees Home was established at 18th & Broadway sheltering freed Black people?

We’ll see resources when we free ourselves from allowing other people to make decisions for us. Get yourself counted west Louisville. You matter.

Black folks in the west end lived in vibrant neighborhoods until urban renewal of the late 1930s when many Black businesses were wiped out.

THEN we started leaving in the 1970s and our population fell by 30% by 2010.

We are 81.6% of the 61,251 population in the west end. Our numbers are probably bigger by now but you allowing yourself to remain invisible hurts you—not the folks withholding investments, economic development opportunities. I’d probably let this go if #louwestend wasn’t my home.

My brother spent years in prison and is a Census Champion in west Louisville. He knows better than most about lack of resources. He ain’t tryna hear that.
