This is a really great thread for what to do if your attention span and reading comprehension and mental processing is shot to hell -- like, actually shot to hell.
I have found this general methodology to be really useful in life. Basically, if you're in location X with something (say, how much work you're able to complete in a day), you're just making it worse for yourself if you say "I'm going to get it together and do 5X tomorrow!"
Just assume in general that at best, at VERY MOST, you can expect tomorrow to be today + a 5% improvement in some direction. If you can figure out what's the right direction, then you can start aiming for your 5% improvement. Then you build on that if you keep doing it.
Of course it's so much more fun and exciting to imagine improving by 100% or even 50% in 1 day or whatever. But that's not really in the stable set of options, and thinking that it is will only cause you to make terrible, self-defeating errors of planning and execution.
So the really key questions are "where am I *really*?" (keep it secret if needs be, being honest with yourself is way more important than being honest with others) and "in which direction do i want to travel?"
and then "what is the MINIMUM noticeable improvement I could ask of myself tomorrow?"
I recently hit on this for planning in general. Once you have a lot of options (or an overactive / delusional imagination) you can't afford to just make "a" plan. You need to make the MINIMUM viable plan. That's the plan that focuses effort and leads to success.
PS you will recognise this plan / this assessment of reality by the thought "is *that* it? is that all?" and a sense of humiliation. this is good news, means you are making contact with reality despite being culturally surrounded by delusional/lying productivity cheerleaders
Never forget the iconic Charlie Munger describing all these funds that came and went throughout his career, saying "So why were we so successful? The answer is pretty simple: we tried to do less."
